Mayor Barbara Ludwig and parliamentary groups on Chemnitz City Council agree: controversial measures will not be put to the vote
The proposals from the Rödl und Partner report, which go beyond internal administrative reorganisation, are not put to the vote. This concerns a total of 20 measures, such as the closure of the Wildgatter, the dissolution of the local councils, the reduction of childcare hours in the daycare centres and the reduction of staff in the school secretariats. The same applies to the proposed closure of outdoor swimming pools and the reduction in sports funding.
Mayor Barbara Ludwig made this decision in consultation with the city council's parliamentary groups: "This decision is the result of our consideration of the individual proposals over the past few days. We will submit a proposal in December in which we will finalise the internal administrative measures and make a proposal on how to proceed with a sustainable administrative and structural concept."
Over the past few days, further suggestions have also been received from citizens. The administration will analyse this information and incorporate it into further considerations.
