On Thursday evening, 30 April, on Walpurgis Night, a number of approved public bonfires will once again be lit in Chemnitz at the following locations, among others:
- Richard-Hartmann-Platz, from 6 pm to 11 pm
- Kreisigstraße opposite the Eselsbrücke bridge, Rabenstein, from 6 pm to midnight
- Goetheweg 58-60/corner of Rabensteiner Straße, Röhrsdorf, from 7.30 pm to midnight
- Viewpoint at the poplar tree, Einsiedel, from 6 pm to midnight
- Meadow on Kirchstraße, Euba, from 9 pm to midnight
This year, a total of ten applications for the burning of a traditional bonfire on Walpurgis Night were submitted by clubs, event organisers and private individuals, eight of which were approved by the City of Chemnitz Legal and Public Order Office. Two of the fires applied for do not require authorisation due to their small size.
(The list only includes venues of applicants who have agreed to publication).
