"Max Meise" - craft and information programme at the nature conservation station
When spring arrives, the nature conservation centre at Adelsbergstraße 192 organises the annual "Max Meise - nest box building for young and old" event. This year's dates are Saturdays 8 and 15 March, from 9 am to 3 pm. The event is a joint project organised by the Saxon Ornithologists' Association (VSO) and the city's environmental department.
Parents, grandparents and, of course, other adults who want to build one or more nesting boxes for their own garden or balcony with children and grandchildren under expert guidance are invited. A donation of approx. 5 euros per nesting box is requested for the materials used.
On both Saturdays, visitors will also have the opportunity to get ideas, suggestions and solutions for breeding and nesting opportunities for building-dwelling bird species and/or bats with a view of the nature conservation centre's buildings.
The Chemnitz-Adelsberg nature conservation centre can be reached by tram line 5 to the Pappelhain stop or by car via Carl-von-Ossietzky-Straße.
