"Max Meise" campaign - nest box building for young and old
Environment Agency and Saxon Ornithologists' Association invite you
On Saturday, 29 February, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Environmental Agency and the Saxon Ornithologists' Association are once again inviting children, young people, parents and grandparents to build bird nesting boxes.
At the nature conservation centre, Adelsbergstr. 192, in 09127 Chemnitz (Gablenz), interested parties can build their own nesting boxes for birds, e.g. for various species of tits such as great tits and blue tits, pied flycatchers, starlings or redstarts, etc. under the expert guidance of bird conservationists and employees of the nature conservation authority.
Meanwhile, the experts provide information on many details about bird protection in the house, yard and garden and are happy to answer questions. At the Adelsberg nature conservation centre, many different nesting aids and their installation options, including on buildings, can be viewed on site. And if you don't need a nesting box yourself, you could score points with a gift you have made yourself.
Admission is free. A donation for materials (orientation 5 euros per nesting box) is requested.
The event is a joint project of the City of Chemnitz Environmental Agency and the Saxon Ornithologists' Association.
