"Max Meise" campaign - Environment Agency invites you to build nesting boxes
On Saturdays 28 February and 7 March 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Environment Agency will once again be hosting the popular "Max Meise - nest box building for young and old" event at the nature conservation station at Adelsbergstraße 192. Parents and grandparents or adults who want to build one or more nesting boxes for their own garden or balcony with children under expert guidance are welcome.
At the same time, there is the opportunity to get ideas, suggestions and solutions for breeding and nesting possibilities for building-dwelling bird species or bats at the nature conservation centre's buildings.
The campaign is a joint project between the Saxon Ornithologists' Association (VSO) and the Environmental Agency. The VSO asks for a donation of around 5 euros per nesting box for the materials. The Chemnitz-Adelsberg nature conservation centre can be reached by tram line 5 to the Pappelhain stop or by car via Carl-von-Ossietzky-Straße.
