Marx and China - do they go together?

On Tuesday, 29 June, 5 to 6.30 pm, the adult education centre is hosting a lecture by philosopher and historian Eike Kopf on the implementation of Marx and Engels' theses in China today. The event will take place at the Gewerkschaftshaus, Augustusburger Straße 33. Admission is free of charge. The academic Eike Kopf looks at the People's Republic of China and can attest to the fact that no other country in the world is currently devoting as much attention and energy to the translation and creative utilisation of the literary legacy of Marx and Engels as China. Against the background of his almost 50 years of work as a Marx-Engels researcher and his numerous visits to China, the speaker is convinced that Marx and China do indeed go together.
Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels stand for the most rational description of the internal structures and development tendencies of the capitalist mode of production to date. They drew fundamental conclusions from their findings for the creation of a new type of civilisation.
Prof. Dr phil. Eike Kopf studied philosophy, economics and history in Leipzig and Jena, worked as a university lecturer and has been a foreign expert with the Chinese government since 1997 and a member of the Chinese National People's Congress since 2003. Since 2006 he has been a member of the board and the prize committee of the World Association for Political Economy registered in Hong Kong. He has published numerous publications and books on Marx, Engels and China.
