Marking of the Nevoigtstraße parking spaces comes into force
Announcement of controls on 11 August for the Tierpark Action Day
On Nevoigtstraße, the parking spaces at the edge of the carriageway have been clearly and uniformly marked in accordance with the regulations. Parking is only permitted within these markings.
The corresponding signage was installed this week, meaning that the StVO regulations have officially come into force. This marks the end of the period for tolerating parking offences and from now on, warning fines will be due.
On Sunday, 11 August, on the fringes of the zoo's 60th anniversary action day, priority checks will be carried out on stationary traffic. Visitors to the zoo travelling by car are urged to comply with the parking regulations.
In addition to the Tierpark car park, Nevoigtstraße 7/9, free parking spaces are also available at the DRK hospital car park, Unritzstraße/Am alten Weinberg, at weekends. On Sundays and public holidays, the Sparkasse car park, Zwickauer Straße 452, access Oberfrohnaer Straße, and the Simmel-Markt car park, Zwickauer Straße 409, can also be used free of charge. Background
The parking situation in Nevoigtstraße impairs road safety, especially on days when the zoo is busy. Despite the clear regulations in the road traffic regulations, people have repeatedly parked on the pavements in contravention of the rules. This endangers pedestrians. Parking on both sides also hinders the emergency services. When property access roads are blocked, residents are unable to reach or leave their properties.
