Fair around the town hall
On Monday, 5 November, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the City of Chemnitz will be holding the last funfair of the year around Chemnitz Town Hall. As usual, the traders will be offering a wide range of goods. A wide range of food and drink will be on offer to cater for your physical well-being.
Outlook: The first fair in the new year will be held on 4 February 2019, 9 am to 4 pm. (Application deadline for traders is the last working day in December 2018).

Last weekly market at the town hall (this year) - relocation to the Red Tower
On Friday, 9 November, from 9 am to 4 pm, the last weekly market for this year will take place at Chemnitz Town Hall. It will then be relocated to the area by the Red Tower.
Due to the construction work for the Chemnitz Christmas market, the weekly market will take place in a smaller form at the Red Tower from 13 November to 21 December (except on 21 November). Opening hours are from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and additionally on 17 November, 24 November (and 22 December) from 9 am to 1 pm.

Arrival of the Christmas tree
The Christmas tree for this year's Christmas market will be delivered on Saturday, 10 November.
Until the arrival of the Christmas tree on the market square in the late afternoon, the waiting time can be shortened with a pre-Christmas barbecue, mulled wine and sweets. A children's carousel will keep young visitors entertained.

Opening of the Chemnitz Christmas market
Mayor Barbara Ludwig will open the Chemnitz Christmas Market 2018 with the traditional stollen cutting ceremony on 30 November 2018 at 4 pm on the market square by the town hall together with Father Christmas.
Every year during the Advent season, the area around Chemnitz Town Hall is transformed into a Christmas world in the Ore Mountains. This year, the construction of over 200 huts will begin on 12 November 2018 on the market square, Neumarkt, Rosenhof, Jakobikirchplatz, Richard-Möbius-Straße, Düsseldorfer Platz and Innere Klosterstraße.
The Chemnitz Christmas market is on 30 November, from 4 pm to 9 pm,
from 1 December to 22 December, from 10 am to 9 pm
and on 23 December from 10 am to 8 pm.
The market regulations of the City of Chemnitz apply to the events.
