Fair around the town hall
On Monday, 6 November 2017, 9 am to 5 pm, the City of Chemnitz will be holding the last funfair of the year around Chemnitz City Hall. As usual, the traders will have an extensive range of goods on offer. A wide range of food and drink will be on offer to cater for your physical well-being.
Outlook: The first fair in the new year will be held on 5 February 2018, 9 am to 4 pm. The closing date for applications is the last working day in December 2017.

On Friday, 17 November 2017, from 9 am to 4 pm, the last weekly market for this year will take place at Chemnitz Town Hall.

Arrival of the Christmas tree
Until the arrival of the Christmas tree on 18 November 2017, in the late afternoon, the waiting time can be shortened with a pre-Christmas barbecue, mulled wine and sweets. A children's carousel will keep young visitors entertained.

Relocation of the weekly market to the area by the Red Tower
Due to construction work for the Chemnitz Christmas Market, the weekly market will be relocated to a smaller area at the Red Tower from 21 November to 22 December 2017 (except 22 November 2017).
The opening hours are from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and additionally on 25 November and 23 December 2017 from 8 am to 1 pm.

Opening of the Chemnitz Christmas market
Mayor Miko Runkel will open the Chemnitz Christmas Market 2017 with the traditional stollen cutting ceremony on 1 December 2017 at 4 pm on the market square by the town hall together with Father Christmas.
Chemnitz Christmas market from 1 to 23 December
Every year during the Advent season, the area around Chemnitz Town Hall is transformed into a Christmas world in the Ore Mountains. This year, the construction of over 200 huts will begin on 20 November 2017 on the market square, Neumarkt, Rosenhof, Jakobikirchplatz, Richard-Möbius-Straße, Düsseldorfer Platz and Innere Klosterstraße.
From 1 to 23 December 2017, visitors and guests will be able to enjoy original Erzgebirge folk art, typical tree decorations, Advent arrangements and many Christmas and culinary delights. The Klosterweihnacht on Innere Klosterstraße takes you back to times long past. The "Erzgebirgsdorf" on Düsseldorfer Platz will also enchant its customers this year.
The Chemnitz Christmas market is open on 1 December 2017, 4 pm to 9 pm, from 2 December to 22 December 2017, 10 am to 9 pm and on 23 December 2017, 10 am to 8 pm.
