Market information - the dates in May
Plant and flower market on Thursday, 1 May: A market tradition in Chemnitz on May Day is the plant and flower market organised by the city on the square by the town hall from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lots on offer for gardens and balconies: bedding and balcony plants, seeds, vegetable plants and perennials, flower arrangements, ceramics and garden accessories. Sweet and savoury food and drinks invite market visitors to linger and enjoy.
Fair on Monday, 5 May: The colourful fair is traditionally held on the first Monday of the month in the area around the town hall from 9 am to 5 pm. As usual, the traders will have an extensive range of goods on offer, and there will also be plenty of food and drink on offer.
Flea market on Sunday, 18 May 2014: From 9 am to 3 pm, there will be space for the flea market on the market square by the town hall. Old or second-hand goods will be on sale here. Food and drinks will be available to refresh junk dealers and visitors.
Please note: It is not necessary for junk dealers to register in advance. If you want to take part, simply turn up at the town hall on Sunday morning at 7 am. The market master will collect the stall fee on site. A square metre costs 2.60 euros plus VAT.
