Market fountain is inaugurated with an entertaining programme
Music and juggling at the fountain festival on Thursday, 14 April, 12 to 2 pm
On Thursday, 14 April, from 12 noon to 2 pm, the new market fountain will bubble for the first time. This year's fountain season will be officially opened with the commissioning ceremony. A varied programme is planned, to which the construction companies, jury and artists involved as well as all Chemnitz citizens are invited.
The fountain festival will be opened with short speeches by the Mayor of Chemnitz Michael Stötzer, the Managing Director of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 GmbH, Stefan Schmidtke, and artist Daniel Widrig, who created the new market fountain.
After the fountain builder has switched on the water, various musical and artistic contributions will round off the afternoon. The contact juggler Kelvin Kalvus from Dresden, the band Stilbruch from Leipzig and the dream magic show Elfe Sorgenfrei and Troll Trolly have been announced.
