Acceptance of the technical equipment has taken place
The substructure of the market fountain, i.e. the technical equipment, was successfully approved on Tuesday with an initial functional test.
The technical equipment includes the fountain chamber, the pipes, the foundations of the fountain figures and the lightning protection system. The excavation pit was also filled up to the top edge of the gravel base layer. The entire preliminary work was planned and installed by the City of Chemnitz.
Meanwhile, the fountain figures have been completed in China and approved by the artist on site. They have already been packed and are expected to be shipped this week. If the transport goes according to plan, the fountain parts will arrive in Hamburg by the end of the year.
Depending on the weather (i.e. mild winter and no severe frost), the fountain is expected to be completed by the end of March 2022.
