Market and Neumarkt areas are completely barrier-free
Paving work on the Neumarkt is completed today
Work on the barrier-free remodelling of Neumarkt is being completed today.
In the area between the town hall, Peek & Cloppenburg and the restaurant on the opposite side, the cobblestones of the remaining area on Neumarkt were removed, processed and reinstalled.
With the completion of the work for the 6th construction phase, the areas of the market and Neumarkt will be completely barrier-free. The city of Chemnitz is thus meeting the needs of visitors to the city centre - especially in view of the European Capital of Culture year Chemnitz 2025.
The construction company KaRo GmbH & Co KG from Genthin was commissioned with the construction work. The total costs amount to around 499,000 euros.
