Markersdorf pedestrian zone - third construction phase
Construction work expected to start on 1 February
On Monday, 1 February, weather permitting, the third construction phase of the renovation of the Markersdorf pedestrian zone will begin. The path area will be paved with 600 square metres of concrete paving and the area will be equipped with four benches and two litter bins. In addition, eight trees and 80 small shrubs will be planted and a shrub area created.
The project is part of the Urban Redevelopment East programme and two-thirds of the funding is being provided by the federal government and the Free State of Saxony.
The construction costs totalled around 145,000 euros. The planning services were provided by iproplan Planungsgesellschaft mbH, Chemnitz. The work is being carried out by Grünanlagen Uwe Pügner Landschaftsgestaltung, Schwarzenberg.
