"Making children strong" adventure land in Chemnitz
Join-in initiative for early addiction prevention at the Chemnitz Sports Day SPORTY
The Coordinator for Addiction Counselling and Addiction Prevention at the City of Chemnitz Health Department has announced that the "Kinder stark machen" adventure land - a participatory initiative for early addiction prevention by the Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA) - will be present at SPORTY, the Chemnitz Sports Day on Saturday, 5 September 2020 from 12 noon to 6 pm at the stadium on Gellertstraße. September 2020 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the stadium on Gellertstraße.
Children can show what they are made of in the "Kinder stark machen" adventure land activity area. They can build human pyramids, jump over fire poles or tackle various other challenges. At hands-on stations such as the low ropes course and the confidence course, as well as on the play stage, everything revolves around the concepts of courage, recognition and team spirit. Adults and children can master many challenges together. In this way, they learn what "being strong" can mean.
By strengthening their self-confidence and promoting their conflict and communication skills, children and young people should learn to say "no" to addictive substances of all kinds, even in the face of peer pressure. Alongside parents and schools, sports clubs can make an important contribution here. This is because coaches are often role models and confidants. In sports clubs, children and young people learn to explore their abilities and limits, deal with success and failure, trust others and resolve conflicts together. All of this helps to make children strong.
For parents and clubs, there is information and advice on how they can strengthen their children in everyday life for a life free of addiction.
