Makerspace meets Paperspace
Creative afternoon at the TIETZ on 28 October, from 2 to 6 pm
Next Saturday, 28 October, the city library invites you to a creative afternoon for young and old at the TIETZ from 2 to 6 pm. The afternoon with do-it-yourself activities for the whole family offers inspiration to make and design beautiful things yourself. Admission is free.
In the "Makerspace", do-it-yourselfers, artists, creatives, tinkerers and collectors come together to share spaces, tools and their knowledge. The focus here is on technical activities. Those interested will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with 3D printing technology and try out the new technology. Children and adults can make their own LED torch or solder an LED cube themselves under the motto "Experiencing electric circuits". The Chemnitz Repair Café shows how to repair defective items and devices alone or together.
The "Paperspace" is all about paper, writing and books. Visitors can look forward to a small bookbinding workshop where they can make a notebook. Creative people can try their hand at making paper, librarians will help them take their first steps towards learning calligraphy and there will be a demonstration of how to make jewellery from origami figures.
The creative afternoon is supported by Repair Café, Stadthalten Chemnitz e. V., FabLab Chemnitz, solaris Förderzentrum für Jugend und Umwelt gGmbH Sachsen, Evelyn Görner (paper workshop) and Madeleine Eisenhuth (origami jewellery).
