Maker magazine presents Chemnitz stories from the past two years

Magazine on the city marketing campaign "The city is me" available from 1 February, exhibition from 1 February at the IHK

A new magazine presents more than 70 interviews with Chemnitz residents from the city marketing campaign "The city is me". The first print run is 500 copies.

Since March 2014, people from our city have been talking about their special commitment, their passion and their love for the city in the "Doers of the week" section. "The result is interviews that provide a very diverse and yet personal view of the city, its inhabitants and life in and with Chemnitz. Amazing, always interesting and worth reading conversations have been documented, which place people and their commitment to our city at the centre," says Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig.

The magazine accompanies the current exhibition "Chemnitzer Macher", which is on display until
28 January 2016 in the town hall. From 1 February, part of the exhibition, eleven panels of the economic movers and shakers, will move to the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Straße der Nationen 25. Until 1 March, the stories of the economic movers and shakers can be read on the 3rd floor from Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm and on Fridays from 10 am to 3 pm. The maker magazine will be available free of charge there and at the town hall from 1 February.

To the "Maker of the week":
In the "Doer of the Week" series, personalities from the city have regularly told what drives them and what ideas they are pushing forward. For example, Guido Günther, graffiti artist on Brühl, describes his visions for Brühl Boulevard. This series also includes success stories such as that of Prof Dr Arved Hübler, who invented a T-Book with his team at Chemnitz University of Technology. A real world champion has also joined the "Makers of the Week": Frizzi Seltmann, who won three gold medals at the rope skipping world championships in Paris. Chemnitz students Jason Jack Weißbach, Florian Steiger and Maxim Kunze, who were actively involved in the preparations for the Summerbreak student festival, show that you can also prove your maker qualities at a young age.
