Lugau - Wüstenbrand footpath and cycle path
Start of construction of the first section from 9 October
On Monday, 9 October 2017, work will begin on a further section of the Lugau - Wüstenbrand footpath and cycle path.
The already completed section from the direction of Lugau will be continued at the crossing of the S 246 state road (Pflockenstraße) on the former railway embankment over a length of approx. 1.3 kilometres to Gewerbeallee in Mittelbach. As in the previous section, the footpath and cycle path will be 2.50 metres wide and will be surfaced with asphalt.
The company Asphaltbau GmbH Bernsdorf will begin clearing the construction site, i.e. more than 2,100 concrete sleepers will be removed from the construction site and the wild vegetation cleared. The existing track ballast will then be processed and the asphalt surface laid.
Around 310,000 euros will have been spent by the end of construction in July 2018. The Free State of Saxony is subsidising the construction project with 90% of the construction costs.
