"Lug ins Land" will not be a residential area
The "Lug ins Land" area in Wittgensdorf, which is characterised by garden and weekend house use and has around 50 plots, is not to be developed into a general residential area. This was decided by a majority of the town council yesterday.
The development plan procedure was initiated by the Wittgensdorf local council and was supported by a growing majority of councillors on the 2008-2013 planning committee. When the draft was confirmed in summer 2013, the town councillors asked the administration to finalise the planning. In particular, the ongoing requests to enable permanent housing on the existing weekend house plots were taken into account.
In spring 2014, concerns prevailed that the planning would result in unaffordable follow-up costs for development and supply and disposal. The administration's proposal to only authorise a first construction phase on an existing access road was also not approved yesterday.
The estate has existed since the 1930s and has been in continuous use ever since. Until the political change in 1989, five detached houses were built in the area. Applications from owners for planning permission for housing had to be refused due to a lack of building rights after reunification. The town councillors want this to remain the case in the future. The concrete building plans of some Wittgensdorf residents will therefore remain unrealised.
The city council's decision marks the end of an eight-year planning process. The discussed follow-up costs of the planning were presented transparently from the beginning of the process.
