Love letters to my hometown

Adult education centre: Exhibition opening on 25 November, 5 p.m., TIETZ, 4th floor

On Monday, 25 November at 5 pm, interested parties are invited to the opening of the exhibition "Love letter to my hometown" in the VHS gallery in the TIETZ, 4th floor.
On display are the "Love letters to my hometown" written by course participants in English. The declarations of love are primarily addressed to Chemnitz and thus particularly flank the path to the year of the European Capital of Culture.
The evening will kick off the exhibition with music, a welcome from the director of the adult education centre, Grit Bochmann, and words about the exhibition.

It is possible, but not necessary, to register for the exhibition opening at https://www.vhs-chemnitz.de/kurs/W2442001.

An idea from Canada inspired Ulrike Tröbs, English course leader at Chemnitz Adult Education Centre, to create "Love letter to my hometown". Together with her participants from a total of four different courses, she created very personal, sometimes touching testimonies in the form of love letters to her own hometown. They come straight from the heart of the writers and deliberately do not claim to be grammatically perfect or perfect in writing, but above all authentic.

The exhibition will be on display on the fourth floor of the TIETZ until 17 January 2025.
