On Monday, 19 May at 5 p.m., Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will welcome participants to the IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), one of the world's leading conferences for measurement technology and instrumentation, in the Wandelhalle of City Hall. This will take place for the first time ever in Germany from 19 to 22 May and is being organised and hosted by Chemnitz University of Technology.
Representatives of the media are invited to the reception in the town hall. Among others, Prof Olfa Kanoun from the Chair of Measurement and Sensor Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology, Prof Fauzi Derbel from the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences and Prof Carlo Trigona from the University of Catania, Italy, will be available as discussion partners from TU Chemnitz.
More than 400 conference guests from all over the world are expected to attend this conference to present the latest research results, innovative applications and current trends in measurement science and technology. It has been held annually for 45 years. The German chapter of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society (IMS) won the bid against cities such as Dubai and was also able to score points with the title of Chemnitz as European Capital of Culture 2025. Previous host cities have included Kuala Lumpur, Ottawa, Minneapolis, Singapore and Brussels.
The reception in the town hall will primarily serve as an opportunity to exchange ideas and network on the topics of measurement technology and electrical engineering and emphasise the importance of technology in Chemnitz.
