On Tuesday, 16 September, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will receive the Minister of State for Culture and the Media, Wolfram Weimer, in the Green Salon of City Hall. It is the inaugural visit of the politician appointed to the office of Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media in May 2025.
4.30 p.m. Wolfram Weimer will sign the City of Chemnitz's Capital of Culture Book. Representatives of the media are invited to this photo opportunity. Also present will be the Saxon State Minister for Culture and Tourism, Barbara Klepsch, Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky, the Managing Directors of Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH, Andrea Pier and Stefan Schmidtke, the General Director of Chemnitz Theatre, Dr Christoph Dittrich, as well as representatives of Chemnitz projects funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
Afterwards, from 4.45 to 5.15 pm, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze and Minister of State Wolfram Weimer will visit the Documentation Centre on the NSU complex on Johannisplatz. From 5.35 to 6.15 p.m., they will be given a guided tour of the exhibition "Edvard Munch. Angst" at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz on Theaterplatz. Representatives of the media are also invited to these two events.
