On Wednesday, 14 January at 2 p.m., Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will receive the Ambassador of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan to Germany, H.E. Omurbek Tekebaev, in the Green Salon of City Hall. The Ambassador will sign the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend.
The visit emphasises the growing interest in deepening German-Kyrgyz relations at municipal level. Against the backdrop of current international developments and increased cooperation between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia, dialogue and partnerships between cities, businesses and educational institutions are becoming increasingly important.
The talks will focus on the exchange of ideas about Chemnitz as a centre of business, science and innovation as well as possible approaches for future cooperation, for example in the areas of business, skilled workers, education, culture and sustainable development. The expansion of civil society contacts and long-term partnerships will also be discussed.
