Lord Mayor Sven Schulze on the additional funding from the Free State of Saxony for the European Capital of Culture 2025
The Free State of Saxony is supporting the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 with an additional five million euros. This was decided today by the Saxon state government.
Lord Mayor Sven Schulze: "This is great news! The additional funds pledged today create further planning security in our preparations for the title year as European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 in view of some price developments. It also shows the state government's confidence in the city of Chemnitz and the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 GmbH that we will put together a programme that will make Chemnitz shine throughout Europe.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Saxon State Government for its exemplary support in the process of the city and the entire cultural region on the way to the title year.
This makes it clear once again that the European Capital of Culture 2025 in Chemnitz is not just a Chemnitz project, but a Saxon project."
