Local transport plan for Chemnitz is presented to the public
Decision to be made by the city council in January 2016
At the end of 2014, the city of Chemnitz informed the public about how the local transport plan is to be updated. Among other things, drafts of the public transport network for Chemnitz were presented at three public events.
Further suggestions and requests for changes could then be submitted until the end of January 2015. These were evaluated in detail and in some cases incorporated into the local transport plan. The local transport plan for the entire association area was then drawn up in consultation with the districts and the city of Zwickau.
The draft of the local transport plan of the Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Mittelsachen (ZVMS) is now available. The ZVMS association assembly is expected to pass a resolution on participation on 27 November 2015. This forms the basis for the involvement of the affected regional authorities, public bodies and citizens.
The City of Chemnitz will involve the committees in a binding manner via a corresponding draft resolution for the Chemnitz sub-area. As usual, citizens will be involved in public events: All citizens of the City of Chemnitz are cordially invited to attend these events on 30 November 2015 and 03 December 2015, both at 18:30 in the City Council Chamber of Chemnitz City Hall at Markt 1. Any comments made here will be brought to the attention of the City Council with the draft resolution.
The ZVMS is expected to pass a resolution on the local transport plan at its association meeting in early summer 2016. Implementation in the city of Chemnitz is planned together with the commissioning of the tram route on Reichenhainer Straße, probably with the timetable change in December 2017.
