Local elections 2019: Ten parties and voter associations represented on Chemnitz City Council
City electoral officer Sven Schulze announced the provisional election results for the city council elections early on Monday morning at 01:16: A total of ten parties and voter associations will be represented in the new Chemnitz City Council. Voter turnout was 61.26 per cent, significantly higher than five years ago (44.15 per cent). A total of 197,000 eligible voters were called upon to decide on the composition of the city council with its 60 members.

The city election committee for the European elections will officially determine all provisional election results at its public meeting on Friday, 31 May at 10 a.m. (City Hall, consultation room 118). The city election committee for the city council elections will then meet on 31 May 2019 at 11 a.m. for its meeting on the ascertainment and determination of results.
