Loan period doubled for e-media

City library responds to customer requests

With immediate effect, electronic media, so-called e-media, can be borrowed via ChemNetzBib, the Chemnitz City Library's portal for e-media, for twice as long as before. The loan period for e-books has been extended from fourteen to twenty-eight days, for e-audios from seven to fourteen days and e-videos can now be borrowed for seven days.

By extending the loan period, Chemnitz City Library is responding to the wishes of its customers.

The city library is providing five e-book readers for customers to try out. A selection of books can be stored on the e-book reader. This means that readers of e-books always have their reading material with them and still carry it lightly, whether they are travelling, on the beach or in the garden. Borrowing e-book readers and e-media is free of charge for customers of the city library.

The e-book consultation hour, which takes place twice a month, offers help for self-help.
The next appointment is on Thursday, 23 June 2016 at 5 p.m. in the Central Library in the TIETZ.

The ChemNetzBib virtual branch has been in existence for almost seven years. It comprises 11,704 e-media, including e-books, e-audios, e-videos, e-papers, e-magazines and e-music. The e-media can be borrowed around the clock at www.stadtbibliothek-chemnitz.de.
