Living Library - Borrowing people for a conversation
On 21 and 28 September, from 4.30 to 6 p.m., the city library invites you to the "Living Library" in the TIETZ. To mark the Intercultural Weeks, personalities from Chemnitz with a migration background will describe their lives and experiences in Chemnitz as "living books". The aim of the campaign is to meet exciting people, learn new things and break down prejudices.
The "Living Library" works like a traditional library: readers borrow a medium, spend a certain amount of time with it and then return it. However, the media in the "Living Library" are not books, but people.
On 21 September 2016, Manh Hung Nguyen (Vietnam), Ida Silalahi (Indonesia), Etelka Kobuß (Hungary), Mai Alkurdi (Syria), Narangarav Nyamsuren (Mongolia) and Ferenc Csák (Hungary) can be borrowed as "books" for a 20-minute conversation.
And on 28 September 2016, Ana Giannina Albornoz (Chile), Dr Teresa Pinheiro (Portugal), Ilya Kogan (Russian Federation), Nancy Gibson (Canada) and Pedro Martin Montero Pérez (Peru) will be guests at the TIETZ.
