The federal "Live Democracy" programme is entering its new funding phase from 2025 to 2032, and Chemnitz projects and initiatives by democratically engaged citizens are once again eligible for funding. The programme focuses on measures that promote non-violent, tolerant and diverse coexistence and the preservation of the basic democratic order.
The federal funds are supplemented by a municipal micro-project fund of the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz (LAP). This means that not only associations, but also individuals and initiatives can apply for funding.
Funds will also once again be made available from the City of Chemnitz budget for project cost subsidies, subject to confirmation of the budget.
Applications can be submitted in written and digital form to the LAP Coordination Office of the City of Chemnitz until 10 March 2025. The contact person is Ines Vorsatz.
