Literary Chemnitz - virtual spring reading in the Chemnitz City Library
From tomorrow, Chemnitz City Library will be presenting Diana Feuerbach, Patricia Holland Moritz and Burkhard Müller, whose biographies are linked to Chemnitz, under the motto Literary Chemnitz. In three podcasts, the authors read from their current books and are in dialogue with literary critic Michael Hametner. After several attempts to organise the events live, they will be published as an online format on the Chemnitz City Library website.
Diana Feuerbach will kick things off on 29 April . She will read the short story "Monsieur Beauchamps remembers", a science fiction story set in an old people's home that could soon become reality. Thanks to a mysterious device, the hundred-year-old protagonist relives his childhood and youth.
On 6 May , Burkhard Müller will present his book of reportage "German Borders - Journeys through the Centre of Europe". In eleven journeys, Burkhard Müller and co-author Thomas Steinfeld have focussed on the inner and outer borders that run through Germany and found some astonishing things in the process.
Finally, on 12 May , Patricia Holland Moritz will read a chapter from her novel "Kaßbergen", which is still hot off the press. A social novel that paints a panorama of a city in the twentieth century, a novel of development and a piece of contemporary German history as well as a declaration of love to Chemnitz, to a neighbourhood and to the people of Kaßbergen.
