Lights out for Earth Hour on 28 March
Chemnitz takes part in the world's largest climate protection campaign organised by the WWF
On Saturday, 28 March, Chemnitz is taking part in this year's WWF Earth Hour. From 8.30 pm , the lights on the Karl Marx Monument and the colourful chimney of the combined heat and power plant, the largest building in Saxony, will once again be switched off for one hour. The utility company eins is supporting this campaign.
On this day, the lights around the world will be switched off again from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. During WWF Earth Hour, thousands of cities, municipalities and companies will switch off their lights for one hour and thus - even in times of corona - send a strong signal for the protection of the earth.
Anyone who would like to take part can find news about the event as well as tips for their own Earth Hour at www.wwf.de/earthhour/. In Germany, the motto of this year's campaign is "Climate protection works together".
