Lights out for Earth Hour on 26 March
Chemnitz takes part in the world's largest climate protection campaign organised by the WWF
On Saturday 26 March, Chemnitz is taking part in this year's WWF Earth Hour. From 8.30 pm, the lights on the Karl Marx Monument and the colourful chimney of the combined heat and power plant, the largest building in Saxony, will once again be switched off for one hour. The utility company eins is supporting this campaign.
On this day, the lights around the world will be switched off again from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. During WWF Earth Hour, thousands of cities, communities and companies will switch off their lights for one hour, sending a strong signal for the protection of the earth.
Earth Hour is the world's largest campaign for more climate and environmental protection. For the 16th time, millions of people, thousands of cities, communities and companies around the world will switch off the lights for one hour and thus send a strong signal for the protection of the planet.
