Lessons back on schedule from Wednesday

Annenschule closed until Friday - Einsiedel daycare centre reopened on Wednesday - Moritzstraße still in temporary accommodation

From Wednesday 5 June, classes will resume as planned at Chemnitz schools.

The only exception will be the Annenschule (primary and secondary school) up to and including Friday of this week. The fire brigade is still pumping water out of the building and there is no electricity or telephone service. In addition, the safety of the electrical systems must be checked. Emergency care will be provided for the primary school pupils in the after-school care centre.

Normal school operations have resumed at Harthau primary school, Einsiedel grammar school and Altchemnitz learning support school, which were still closed today. Please note: Access to the Altchemnitz learning support school is still partially restricted by public transport.

All day-care centres have been operating normally again since Tuesday.

The daycare centre in Einsiedel, which was still closed today, will be able to look after children again from Wednesday. However, parents will have to bring their own breakfast and snacks, as the kitchen is not yet fully operational. Lunch will be delivered.

Whether the daycare centre in Moritzstraße can reopen on Thursday will be decided on Wednesday. This depends on the drying of the equipment. The mud was removed from the building today and the basic cleaning will also take place today. Childcare for children of working parents will continue to be provided at the Waisenstraße daycare centre.
