In the historical novel "The Broken Pen", Sabine Ebert writes about a young woman who has to find her way in the oppressive times of the Restoration. The young widow Henriette is forced to leave Prussia and takes up residence in Freiberg. However, increased censorship and social pressure put her under pressure. Together with her confidant Felix Zeidler, she stands up to the rising spirit in which book burnings and assassinations are celebrated as heroic deeds.
The 8th Leselust Literature Festival continues until 14 May and brings well-known authors such as Julia Franck, Ronja von Rönne, Denis Scheck and Rayk Wieland to Chemnitz and the region.
