Leipziger Straße/Friedrich-Schlöffel-Straße: Repair of drinking water pipe not completed until the middle of next week
Road users please note restriction in the construction area to only one lane inbound and one lane outbound
The repair of the defective drinking water pipe on Leipziger Straße at Friedrich-Schlöffel-Straße (PM 562 from 01.10.14) is not expected to be completed until the middle of the 41st calendar week, according to information provided by the responsible supplier eins to the city's traffic authority. The damaged pipe in the area of the Leipziger Straße/Friedrich-Schlöffel-Straße junction is located crosswise under Leipziger Straße. The supplier has decided that the drinking water pipe needs to be completely replaced.
The city's traffic authority is asking road users to take note of the severely restricted traffic situation on the busy Leipziger Straße in the construction area: only one lane is available in each direction.
The traffic authorities had already switched off the traffic lights on Friedrich-Schlöffel-Straße yesterday afternoon to speed up the traffic flow and installed a switchable pedestrian emergency traffic light.
Residents of Friedrich-Schlöffel-Straße will not be able to use Leipziger Straße during the construction phase - please use the diversion via Max-Plank-Straße.
Information about the accident and the repair work can be obtained from the utility company eins - you can reach Christian Stelzmann, contact person in the Corporate Communications department, on the mobile phone number 0152/01560062.
