Lecture evening on the diversity of woody plants in our city
The next lecture in the programme of monthly events organised by the volunteer nature conservation service will focus on the diversity of trees and shrubs in our city. The event will take place on Tuesday, 28 January at 5 p.m. at the Chemnitz-Adelsberg nature conservation station at Adelsbergstraße 192 in the Bürgerraum.
The Lower Nature Conservation Authority at the Environmental Agency will provide information on the topic of the evening's lecture: around seven years ago, botanist and nature conservationist Horst Grundmann and tree nursery expert Karl Naue began recording the woody flora of Chemnitz and have since collected hundreds of tree and shrub species that can be found in parks and gardens or as street trees.
In the second part of his lecture, Karl Naue will now present more of the most important woody species found in Chemnitz in words and pictures. (Part 1 of the lecture was included in the programme of monthly events at the nature conservation station in February 2013).
Nature conservation helpers and all other citizens interested in the topic are cordially invited to attend the lecture. Admission is free.
