Lecture evening at the nature conservation centre opens new series of events on the history of nature conservation
The last lecture in this year's programme of monthly events organised by the voluntary nature conservation service will take place on Tuesday, 26 November at 5 pm at the nature conservation station at Adelsbergstraße 192. According to the city's environmental department, the lecture evening will also mark the start of a new series of events on the history of nature conservation in Chemnitz.
The organisers of the new series of lectures at the nature conservation station are particularly interested in the fact that many citizens and interest groups were already actively involved in nature conservation in the former Karl-Marx-Stadt before 1990. The first part of the nature conservation history - at least three lectures are planned - is entitled "Voluntary ornithological work before the political change in 1990". The speaker is the biologist and ornithologist Dieter Saemann. The volunteer nature conservationist was also chairman of the Saxon Ornithologists' Association (VSO) for a time and will report on 26 November on his work with volunteer ornithologists in the 1970s and 1980s.
Nature conservation helpers and anyone else interested in the topic are cordially invited to the lecture evening. As always, admission is free of charge.
