Lecture at the environmental centre

As part of the Agenda 21 citizenship process, a discussion on the topic of "Area of conflict: birds and wind turbines" will take place on 13 April 2016 at 5 pm and on 21 April 2016 at 6 pm at the Chemnitz Environmental Centre. The speaker will be Sven Krahnert from Naturschutzbund Sachsen RV Erzgebirge. Interested parties are cordially invited.

Background:
The use of renewable energies has become an essential part of society's energy supply. The expansion of wind turbines, for example, leads to conflicts between nature conservation and energy policy. Collisions between birds and bats and the rotors can be a problem. According to the Federal Nature Conservation Act, these species are specially protected and must not be significantly disturbed. But what constitutes significant disturbance and how can the risk of collisions be predicted?
These and similar questions will be explored at the above-mentioned events.
