Learning together - adult education centre launches inclusive Braille course
In cooperation with the Blinden- und Sehbehindertenverband Sachsen e. V., Kreisorganisation Chemnitz/Stollberg, the Volkshochschule Chemnitz is offering a course to learn and consolidate Braille from 18 October 2017. Participation is free of charge.
Over the course of four evenings, participants will receive an introduction to the origins and basics of Braille as well as how to read and write Braille. Both sighted and blind or visually impaired people can take part. Teaching materials can be purchased during the course.
The Frenchman Louis Braille developed the Braille system named after him in 1825. Braille, which is used all over the world today, enables blind people to read and write.
The course consists of four sessions on Wednesdays from 18 October to 8 November from 5 to 6.30 p.m. in classroom 4.19, Adult Education Centre, TIETZ.
