The Chemnitz City Library is now offering all children, young people and interested parties aged nine and over a fun introduction to the world of programming. With the online platform "Code it!", children can learn how to use programming languages, syntax and graphic design on their own.
A diverse selection of online courses provides variety. In addition to modifications for the game Minecraft, children can also programme their own apps or graphic games. The playful approach motivates children to continue learning.
A course comprises around six to seven hours of learning time and can be completed by children completely independently. The courses are web-based and can be started at any time. A valid library card from Chemnitz City Library and an internet-enabled computer with a keyboard are required to use the course. A course can be used for 14 days.
The content was developed with the involvement of media educators and is specially tailored to the needs and abilities of children.
