Laying of the foundation stone for Glösa primary school
Invitation for media representatives: 10 November, 11 a.m., Schulberg 3
Tomorrow, Friday 10 November 2017 at 11 a.m., the foundation stone for the urgently needed extension to increase capacity will be laid on the grounds of Glösa Primary School (Schulberg 3). This event will be followed and accompanied with excitement by the pupils, the school management, representatives of the architectural firm and the construction company. The Mayor of Chemnitz, Michael Stötzer, and other representatives of the city administration will also be present.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited.
The construction project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2018. The costs amount to around
3.3 million euros. The new primary school building will house four classrooms and four specialist rooms for computer science, music, handicrafts and art. There will also be a dining hall with a serving kitchen, four cloakrooms and four preparation rooms as well as three pupils' toilets and a barrier-free teachers' toilet.
In the old building, two after-school rooms with an after-school kitchen will be installed in the former dining room and the former IT room. The project also includes equipping the building for the disabled with a disabled lift and an additional toilet in the basement.
The sports field will remain at the existing location and will be redesigned as part of the overall project.
