On Friday 30 October, the world of work in the Chemnitz economic region will once again come to life. As part of the ‘Late Shift’ event, 100 companies and organisations from Chemnitz, the Erzgebirge district, Central Saxony and the Zwickau district are inviting interested members of the public to take a look behind the scenes.
The free guided tours can be booked online from Thursday 1 October at www.industriekultur-chemnitz.de. As places are limited, early registration is recommended.
During these tours, visitors can experience production processes, discover various career fields and chat with staff. In this way, ‘Spätschicht’ not only offers exciting insights into the regional economy, but also the opportunity to get to know potential employers in person and make contacts for one’s own professional future.
Silvana Bergk, Head of the Economic Affairs Division at Chemnitz City Council, said: “The ‘Spätschicht’ showcases what our economic region has to offer: a diverse range of companies, exciting jobs and interesting career prospects. Above all, however, it brings people and companies together in person – which can lead to new contacts, opportunities and career paths.”
Once again, a broad spectrum of organisations is represented, ranging from established firms to start-ups. The diversity of sectors makes the ‘Spätschicht’ an event for a wide range of target groups – from school pupils and students to jobseekers, skilled workers and anyone interested in the region’s businesses.
The ‘Spätschicht’ is organised jointly by the participating partners of the Chemnitz economic region.
