Large Erzgebirge mining parade in Chemnitz city centre requires traffic restrictions on Saturday (30.11.)

For the 35th time, the Great Erzgebirge Mountain Parade, which takes place in Chemnitz every year on the day before the 1st Advent, will parade through the city centre on Saturday, 30 November from 2 pm: The participants in the parade will be welcomed by Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig.
The parade will feature 668 people in uniform from 31 organisations as well as 261 mountain musicians from seven mountain bands and 18 mountain singers from the Neustädtel singing group - information on the mountain parade is also available online at www.chemnitz.de/weihnachtsmarkt
Information from the traffic authorities: The city's traffic authority asks you to observe the traffic restrictions in the city centre that will be necessary from 1 p.m. until around 4 p.m. due to the large-scale event. The entire route of the parade will be closed and reopened by the Chemnitz Police Headquarters. We ask for your understanding and attention that all car parks in the area of the parade route will be closed from 9 am.
The participants of the mountain parade will meet at 1 pm on the theatre square and start their impressive parade here at 2 pm - here is the route: From Theaterplatz via Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, turn right into Richard-Tauber-Straße, then continue right along the city-bound lane of Straße der Nationen, turn right into Brückenstraße to Theaterstraße and back along Brückenstraße to the Stadthallen forecourt.
Bypassing the parade route: The parade route can be bypassed via Bahnhofstraße / Theaterstraße / Mühlenstraße / Georgstraße.
Visitors to the Bergparade and the city centre should please leave their cars at home and use the public transport system(www.cvag.de).
