Laptops and tablets for Chemnitz pupils
More mobile devices to improve distance learning opportunities
Over the past few weeks, the City of Chemnitz Education Authority has distributed a large number of laptops and tablets to secondary school pupils.
Around 800 laptops and almost 400 tablets were given to pupils from socially disadvantaged backgrounds on loan. This enables them to take part in digital distance learning. The devices are financed by a supplementary funding regulation for the federal government's digital pact.
In total, the education authority has purchased around 3,200 laptops and tablets this year to cover the demand at schools. The devices are used both for distance learning and for new concepts in regular school operations.
