Labyrinth of lights enchants the Brühl again
Light and music on the boulevard on Saturday evening (19 July) KOMM! summer workshop again in cooperation with Chemnitz twin towns
Next Saturday (19 July) from 8 pm, over 3,000 shining tea lights in sand-filled paper bags in the form of a labyrinth of lights will once again create an atmospheric ambience on Chemnitz's Brühlboulevard. There will also be handmade and self-performed music and other creative activities. Choirs and instrumental groups from the European Summer Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir as well as Bandorama and Folk Dance Chemnitz will be performing. Food and drink will also be provided.
Brühl manager Dr Urs Luczak cordially invites the people of Chemnitz to take part: "The city's Brühl office is very happy to support the Labyrinth of Lights event on the Brühl again this year. Anyone who wants to be inspired and experience the special atmosphere is welcome. Creative people are welcome to get involved themselves, by appointment and spontaneously."
Taking part in the labyrinth of lights is very simple: a parchment bag + a handful of sand + a tea light = your light becomes part of the labyrinth. The labyrinth of lights on Saturday evening on Chemnitz Brühl is part of the European Summer Philharmonic and Choir 2014 organised by the Sächsische Mozart-Gesellschaft e.V. and is supported by the city's Brühl Office.
Chemnitz summer workshop KOMM! welcomes guests from Usti nad Labem and makes stops in Chomutov and Lodz
With the support of the City of Chemnitz, the Saxon Mozart Society is continuing its successful cooperation with the Chemnitz twin cities of Lodz (Poland) and Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic) in the programme of this year's Chemnitz Summer Workshop KOMM! July) in Chemnitz for the concerts of the European Summer Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir and will also be present at the Labyrinth of Lights on the Brühl on Saturday (19 July, 8 pm). From 18 to 22 July, rehearsals will take place at the Küchwaldbühne - where the concert with the motto "What a wonderful world" is also scheduled for Tuesday (22 July, 8 pm). One day later, singers and musicians will perform in Chomutov in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, 23 July. In Lodz, Poland, the summer workshop will stop off with a labyrinth of lights on Thursday, 24 July and a concert on Friday, 25 July.
For the events in Lodz, which are under the patronage of the Lord Mayors of Chemnitz and Lodz, the International Relations Department of the City of Chemnitz has established the contacts for the summer project of the Saxon Mozart Society and also supported the Summer Philharmonic campaign as a whole. The Summer Philharmonic project is subsidised with 2,600 euros by the City of Chemnitz via the local action plan for democracy, tolerance and a cosmopolitan Chemnitz (LAP).
