Labyrinth of lights enchants the Brühl
Light and music on the boulevard on Saturday evening
Tomorrow, Saturday 11 July, from 7.30 pm, over 3,000 shining tea lights in sand-filled paper bags in the form of a labyrinth of lights will once again create an atmospheric ambience on Chemnitz's Brühlboulevard. There will also be a varied programme of handmade and self-performed music. Choirs and instrumental groups from the European Summer Philharmonic Orchestra, which includes more than 200 singers and musicians from Chemnitz's twin cities, will be performing. The Balalajki ensemble comes from the twin city of Łódź. Culinary delights will also be provided.
Brühl manager Dr Urs Luczak cordially invites the people of Chemnitz to take part: "The city's Brühl office is very happy to support the labyrinth of lights on the Brühl again this year. Anyone who wants to be inspired and experience this special flair is very welcome. Creative people are welcome to become active themselves, whether registered or spontaneously."
Taking part in creating the labyrinth of lights is very simple: a parchment bag + a handful of sand + a tea light = your light becomes part of the labyrinth.
The labyrinth of lights on Saturday evening on Chemnitz Brühl is part of the European Summer Philharmonic and Choir 2015 of the Sächsische Mozart-Gesellschaft e.V. (from 10 to 14 July at the Küchwaldbühne) and is supported by the city's Brühlbüro. Admission is free.
