"La Piazza dell'amicizia - a place for friendships"

This is the title of an inclusive mask theatre spectacle that will be performed on 29 January at 7.30 pm at the Freiberg Tivoli and on 17 and 18 February at 7 pm at the Chemnitz Schauspielhaus.

Under the artistic direction of Pier Giorgio Furlan, representatives of the outpatient child and youth welfare centre MensChemnitz GbR, the ASB residential centre for severely physically disabled people and the sign language choir Monael & Friends, Kaleidoskop from the SFZ vocational training centre for the blind and visually impaired, will be performing a show.gGmbH, the theatre group "Compagnia la Mascherata" Mittweida and the Association for Assisted Living Mittweida, including the Seifersbach residential home, imaginatively, imaginatively and with a wink as they imagine an Italian piazza in the course of a day.Petra Liebetrau, the City of Chemnitz's representative for the disabled, also plays two small roles.

The special thing about this theatre play is not only the interaction between the actors with and without disabilities. The approach is also special: All the actors came up with the respective anecdote and their role themselves, designed, made and rehearsed their masks and costumes!

The play is about encounters between different people on a market square, with bizarre scenes and melancholy stories: Night spirits appear, funny clowns get up to mischief, singing animals and amorous gardeners will be on show as well as dancing sea creatures.
Various lighting techniques and a mixture of canned and live music will be used for the performance. In other words, a colourful, varied synthesis of different forms of expression.

The performance spaces are also accessible for wheelchair users and the texts are translated into sign language.

Tickets are available from the Tivoli Freiberg theatre box office and from the Chemnitz Schauspielhaus ticket service.
