Traffic restrictions, diversions and public transport
Due to the KOSMOS Chemnitz event on Thursday, 4 July 2019, there will be traffic restrictions in the city centre from Wednesday, 3 July to Friday, 5 July.
Closures
From Wednesday, 3 July, 6 a.m. to Friday, 5. Brückenstraße between Theaterstraße/ Mühlenstraße and Straße der Nationen, Theaterstraße between Hartmannstraße and Brückenstraße and Mühlenstraße between Brückenstraße and Stadtbad will be fully closed.
During this period, Mühlenstraße will be closed to through traffic between Stadtbad and "HeckArt".
From 6 a.m. on Wednesday, 3 July, parking on Brückenstraße between Theaterstraße and Straße der Nationen, the Brückenstraße stump and the middle section of Mühlenstraße will not be possible in order to safeguard the expansion work.
From 4 a.m. on Wednesday, 3 July, public transport and private traffic will be secured via: Promenadenstraße - Theunertstraße - Schloßstraße - Georgstraße (with stopping bans in sections)
Main traffic will be diverted via: Bahnhofstraße - Carolastraße - Straße der Nationen - Georgstraße - Mühlenstraße - Müllerstraße - Promenadenstraße - Hartmannstraße - Theaterstraße
Accessibility Stumpf Brückenstraße
Due to the event areas at the intersection of Theaterstraße/Brückenstraße/
Mühlenstraße, it is not possible to guarantee access to the stump via Brückenstraße or Mühlenstraße.
In this area, traffic routing must be changed so that access and exit is via Schloßstraße - "Janssen" using traffic lights.
Please note that residents and businesses will only be able to enter the Stumpf via a right-hand turning lane from Schloßstraße.
Public transport
Due to the limited number of parking spaces in the city centre and the expected disruption to private transport, we strongly recommend using public transport. As an additional offer, the organiser will provide the parking spaces at Messe Chemnitz (P0, P1, P2) free of charge. The city centre can then be reached by tram line 1.
