Kochstrasse carriageway and pavement to be renewed
Start of construction on 24 July - full closure of Kochstraße between Ricarda-Huch-Straße and Willy-Reinl-Straße
On Monday, 24 July, construction work will begin on Kochstraße in the Altendorf* district to renew the carriageway and pavement (on the odd-numbered side) in the section between Ricarda-Huch-Straße and Willy-Reinl-Straße. The construction area is expected to be fully closed until 1 September. The diversion will be via the surrounding roads.
The granite kerbs and slabs of the eastern pavement will be removed, temporarily stored and installed at the correct height. In addition, empty conduits will be laid and the zebra crossings on Willy-Reinl-Straße will be made barrier-free. A footpath projection will be created on Ricarda-Huch-Straße to allow pedestrians to cross safely. Once the pavement work has been completed, the asphalt surface of the carriageway will be renewed.
Pedestrians will have access to the buildings at all times via a continuous pavement. However, access to the properties and the garage community is not possible during the construction work. Please use other access and parking options during the construction period if necessary. In urgent cases, arrangements can be made with the construction company.
During the construction work, the restrictions for residents should be kept to a minimum, but construction-related noise and dust are to be expected.
The construction company will take the rubbish bins to the site boundary on the respective collection dates each week and back to the properties after they have been emptied.
The Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau company was commissioned to carry out the construction work.
The costs amount to around 173,000 euros.
