#klimafit - Climate change on our doorstep
Six-part VHS course - start on 17 March, 6 p.m.
From 17 March to 19 May, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites you to the six-part course "#klimafit - Climate change on our doorstep! What can I do?". The City of Chemnitz is also concerned with climate adaptation issues. In order to fulfil these tasks, the municipality needs citizens who are jointly committed to climate protection. The aim is to tackle climate change on the ground.
Participation is free of charge. Registration is possible until 10 March at www.vhs-chemnitz.de or 0371 488-4343. The first events will take place online.
The innovative course provides important information and ideas: Background information and scientific facts on the topic of "climate and climate change" and the changes that climate change is bringing about in Germany and the Chemnitz region. Virtual expert dialogues with leading climate researchers, as well as with those involved in climate protection in the city of Chemnitz, open up a wide range of perspectives. Participants will also get to know local initiatives.
WWF Germany and the Helmholtz Research Network on Regional Climate Change (REKLIM) have developed this course, and the project is funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation, the Klaus Tschira Foundation and VisualVest. The City of Chemnitz's environmental office is supporting the events. In addition, #klimafit in Sachsen is supported by the Saxon State Centre for Political Education. Successful participation is recognised with a certificate.
